Draft Truckee airport master plan slated for May release – Sierra Sun

Welcome to the website dedicated to the Truckee Tahoe Airport Master Plan Process.  Kicked off in late 2012, the TTAD Master Plan process goal is to update the current Master Plan through a robust public input process and analysis of the best available data on community and aviation needs in the region.  The purpose of a Master Plan is to create a blueprint for facility and infrastructure planning over the next 10-15 years.

To review a summary of our public input process please read the summary report that included input from over 500 people over a course of several months.  In summary, what the community and pilots stated that they wanted was a growth management strategy for the airport consistent with the growth of the region. In short, upgrades to improve the airport. No major projects are slated to be built in the master plan over the next 10-15 years.  Community members offered many ideas on uses at the airport that will not be used in the master plan but staff and board will consider as part of the update to the TTAD strategic plan.

In early May, draft chapters of the Master Plan will be available for the public to review on this website.
