New Truckee Tahoe Airport Master Plan Anticipates Less Growth – Capital Public Radio

Welcome to the website dedicated to the Truckee Tahoe Airport Master Plan Update Process.  Kicked off in late 2012, the TTAD Master Plan process goal is to update the current Master Plan through a robust public input process and analysis of the best available data on community and aviation needs in the region.  The purpose of the Master Plan is to create a blueprint for facility and infrastructure planning over the next 10-15 years.

To review a summary of the public input process please read the summary report that included input from over 500 people over a course of several months.  In summary, what the community and pilots stated that they wanted was a growth management strategy for the airport consistent with the growth of the region. In short, upgrades to improve the Airport. No major projects are slated to be built in the Master Plan over the next 10-15 years.  Community members offered many ideas on uses at the Airport that are not directly applicable to the Master Plan but staff and board will consider as part of the TTAD strategic plan.

Draft chapters of the Master Plan are currently available for the public to review on this website.
